Wine Advice and Consulting
I provide private consultation on various issues related to the wine industry and wine collecting, as well as marketing, event management, advertising and PR. These services are available on a case-by-case basis.
Cellar Management
These services are available for wine cellars ranging in size from 10 to 10,000+ bottles. This is a solo operation and I only work with a handful of clients at a time. I am familiar with the needs and demands of high net-worth individuals, and my focus is on security and discretion.
The cellar management services available may include, but are not limited to:
- Recording
- Creation of a detailed database of the cellar as a whole and/or of specific bottle lots. The database may be updated and viewed in real-time using web-based documents stored in the “cloud,” or held in a locked spreadsheet, or a combination thereof.
- Optional uploading of information into additional third-party database systems.
- Labeling and tagging.
- Evaluation
- Price evaluation conducted on a per-bottle, per-lot, or total cellar scale.
- Includes per-bottle tasting notes and critical scores (where available).
- Hold or drink consultation.
- Transfer and Reorganization
- Arrangement and oversight of services for cellar relocation.
- Transportation of lots to auction.
- Cellar reordering.
- Club-List Management
- Orchestration of club-list memberships.
- Intake and inventory control.
- Auction Brokerage
- Negotiation with online and live auction houses.
- Solicitation of the best available cellar, per-lot, and/or per-bottle prices.
Tasting Events
Tasting event consultation and services are available for private home and/or business events. The services are available for parties of 2 to 1000. Services provided may include, but are not limited to:
- Design
- Formulating the direction and goal(s) of the event.
- Creation of a cohesive theme.
- Bottle Selection
- Assistance in selecting bottles from private collection stock or in purchasing bottles via retail/auction which fit the theme.
- Oversight and Production
- End-to-end event execution.
- Discussion facilitation.

Vin Collections arranged a blind tasting of Oregon and Washington wines (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cab-Sav and Merlot) at our house. Our friends still rave about how much fun they had and how much they learned. It helped us find the ‘sweet spot’ for our palates, a plus in the current economy. We definitely plan to invite Vin Collections back for more tastings.
I recently attended a wine tasting arranged by Vin Collections. The event was a terrific combination of fascinating information and great entertainment. Since I’m not familiar with the wine world, I was a little reluctant at first to share my views on the wines we were sampling. However, the atmosphere was so relaxed and inviting that all of us, novices included, eagerly participated in the lively discussions. It was a fabulous evening, and I came away with a greater appreciation of wine and plans to have Vin Collections put on a wine tasting at my house.
Levi and Vin Collections helped choose the wines for two wine tasting events that Dome Construction Corp. hosted for several Architectural firms including more than 60 guests. He also helped in providing detailed background information on the wine and answered questions from the attendees. Both events were very successful and have led to follow-up requests by our guests on where to purchase the wines we selected and when we will have the next tasting.
